Recognition of prior learning

Australian Open Polytechnic (AOP) recognises that some professionals may have prior education qualification and work experience. Prior education could be academic awards such as a Certificate IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor or postgraduate study. Apart from academic awards, some professionals may have completed short online courses or professional development as part of workplace training. AOP may recognise your prior education, training, ongoing learning and work experience. You will need to provide evidence to gain credit for prior learning and work experience.

After assessing your evidence, you may be eligible for credit which may reduce your study duration and tuition fees. All applications for prior learning are assessed based on evidence.

Skills upgrade

Students and employers can upskill training by undertaking one or more unit of study or competency from any diploma qualifications. Rather than doing the full course, students can undertake one unit of study or competency. Upon successful completion of assessments, students can get certification for the completion of the relevant unit(s) of study or competency. Students will have access to the learning materials, assessments, video lectures, and other resources for the unit(s) enrolled.

The short courses are 3-4 weeks long. Our short courses are affordable and accessible to students from all nationalities.
