The Australian Open Polytechnic (AOP) has a vision to provide training and education in areas of expertise which lead to strong employment outcome. We will achieve this by working closely with industry and developing our teaching staff capacity to set new standards in training delivery. AOP aims to achieve its vision by providing affordable and accessible education to all people. Our focus is to build reputation in online mode of learning with personalized support to students.

To achieve the vision, AOP engages professionals from industry to provide advice on industry insights, trends, changes, labour market and other intelligence. The external peers are engaged to align the course offerings of AOP and other skills so they are relevant to industry.

The External Advisory Board provides direct advice to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on the following:
  • Advice on AOP strategy and performance.
  • Financial and risk management advice.
  • Industry trends and changes relevant to AOP.
  • Labour market, future of work and employment trends.
  • Skills-gaps and future employment outlook.
  • New course(s) in demand to align with national and international trends.
  • Government policies and opportunities; and
  • Other advice on the request of the CEO.

The External Advisory Board consists of members including the CEO, Principal Advisor, and industry peers. The industry peers have skills and experience in management, legal, financial management, and community relationships. Our governance is based on our values of diversity, integrity, ethics, transparency, and fairness.
